Here’s a PR/invitation piece that has been distributed to the Murdoch university faculty and student body for the past month or so.
I certainly feel too young to have an entire lecture series! And, honestly, it is one that highlights more the work of the entire ICR, and not just my own research. Still, it has been quite a lot of fun to put the four talks together (with 1 more to go this Friday). It is always good for me to take a step or two back and see what I think about topics that often are left at the level of assumption…as well as recap and re-look at all the research results that we’ve collected at the ICR as a holistic series of work rather than individual studies.
I have been a little bit self-conscious at times because they are recording the talks onto DVD. But, the recordings will allow them to distribute them to people who enquire–and just this past weekend we had an email from someone in Sydney who is enrolled in distance education through Murdoch requesting copies of the recording. And people from the Media Department, Psychology Department, and Business School have been in attendance. Humbling. And wonderful, since my ITRI/Murdoch colleagues have also had very interesting insights on the work…which of course always leads to ideas about more research!
